Svanninge Hills

Go for a hike in the Alps of Funen

Svanninge Hills

You don’t have to travel far, already on the outskirts of Faaborg you will find Svanninge Hills, also known as the Alps of Funen.

Together with Svanninge Hills and Sollerup Forest, the area forms Funen’s largest continuous forest and nature area, ideal for both adventures and relaxation in the open air.

Here you will find hiking trails of different lengths, so you can choose the route that suits both your mood and energy level. Along the way, there are good chances of experiencing the area’s rich animal and plant life up close.

The natural gem contains experiences for the whole family. Children and adventurous souls can go on a troll hunt for Finn, who, according to legend, dug the hole where Arreskov Lake is today. And in Trollland, one of Denmark’s largest natural playgrounds, there is room for both play and imagination. From the observation tower at Restaurant Skovlyst, visitors are also rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view of the Funen landscape.
