The South Funen Archipelago
Ærø
“Everything is water next to Ærø”
That’s Ærø’s slogan, because they know they have one of the most beautiful islands in South Funen.
Take the Ærø ferry from Fåborg and be there in about an hour.
- The island offers shops, restaurants and cafes in the towns of Marstal and Ærøskøbing, which are the largest towns on the small island. Take a walk through the town’s streets and enjoy the sight of the many small, colorful houses that Ærø is known for.
- Satisfy your curiosity with a visit to one of the island’s 6 museums. At Marstall’s Maritime Museum you can take a journey through Danish maritime history from the 17th century to the present day. At Hammerich’s House you can step into the past and at Ærø Museum you can immerse yourself in the island’s history.
- Enjoy the view from Skjoldnæs Lighthouse. It is open 24 hours a day, so you can either enjoy the view in daylight or look at the stars after sunset.
Ærø is suitable for a day trip and is not far from Falsled Kro.
